Director of Research and Effectiveness

The Public Education Foundation, a well-established local education fund with a national reputation for innovation
and successful school reform, seeks a Director of Research and Effectiveness. The successful candidate will lead
the Foundation's efforts to gather, analyze, present, and use information that strengthens PEF's programs and
helps Hamilton County public schools increase student achievement.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and directing the Foundation's research, analysis, evaluation, and data gathering.
Collaborating with the Foundation's president and directors to identify, collect, analyze, understand, and
present in a reader-friendly format the data and information that are most helpful to colleagues at the
Foundation and in the school district.
Building, cleaning, and maintaining a database that provides Foundation staff with broad options for
evaluation and assessment.
Helping principals, teachers, counselors, and the broader community analyze, understand, and use
student achievement data to drive improvement.
Working with the Foundation's president and directors to prepare and help present information in
formats that are widely understood by the general public.
Maintaining a strong working relationship and data sharing agreements with the senior staff of the
Hamilton County Schools, local post-secondary institutions, and non-profit organizations.
Providing data, graphics, and analysis for grant proposals and reports to funders.
Presenting information to local, regional, and national audiences.
Consulting and supporting the work of others conducting research on public education and community
well-being.
Serving as a member of the Foundation's senior leadership team and helping to lead efforts to strengthen
the Public Education Foundation's work.
Credentials and requirements:
Extensive experience and expertise in data collection and analysis, preferably in public education reform
Strong knowledge of statistics and experience with SPSS software
Experience working with non-profit organizations and public school districts
Excellent ability to communicate with spoken words and graphics
Deep commitment to improving public schools
Compensation: will be highly competitive and includes a generous benefits package and the opportunity to work in a non-profit organization with a long history of helping to improve public schools. The Director of Research and Effectiveness reports directly to the Foundation's president.
