Ronald A. Wolk
Consultant, Education and Media Relations
Ronald A. Wolk is chairman of the board of Editorial
Projects in Education (EPE), a nonprofit organization
founded in 1958. He is also the founding editor and publisher
of Education Week (founded in 1981), Teacher Magazine
(founded in 1989), and Quality Counts, all published
by EPE. At EPE, Mr. Wolk conducted a foundation-sponsored
survey of information needs in higher education, which
led to the founding of the Chronicle of Higher Education
in November 1966.
At Brown University, he had a
10-year tenure (1969–79)
as vice president. He was special assistant to the National
Commission on the Causes and Prevention of Violence,
and assistant director of the Carnegie Commission on
the Future of Higher Education. From 1962 to 1968, Mr.
Wolk served Milton S. Eisenhower as a speechwriter and
proposal writer. From 1959 to 1962, he was editor of
Johns Hopkins Magazine.
Mr. Wolk holds a bachelor of arts from Westminster College,
a master of arts from Syracuse University, a master of
arts Ad. Eudem from Brown University, and a doctor of
humane letters from Lebanon Valley College.
