Anne C. Hallett
Founder and Executive Director
Cross City Campaign for Urban School Reform
Anne
C. Hallett is founder and executive director of the Cross
City Campaign for Urban School reform, a Network of urban
school reform leaders. She serves on the boards of directors
of Catalyst, Chicago’s School reform magazine,
and the Chicago Algebra Project. She co-wrote the successful
Chicago Annenberg Challenge proposal and is an elected
member of the Chicago School Reform Collaborative, the
operating arm of the Chicago Challenge. She was chair
of the governing board of the National Committee for
Citizens in Education for three years. She served as
executive director of the Wieboldt Foundation in Chicago
for seven years, during which time she co-chaired the
Neighborhood Funders Group and chaired Chicago Women
in Philanthropy. She was executive director of Citizen’s
Education Center in Seattle, Washington from 1983-86
and served as founding executive director for the Chicago
Panel on School Policy from 1982-83. She was founder,
chair, and chief lobbyist for Citizens for Fair School
Funding, which advocated successfully for school finance
reform in Washington State.
